Specimen 1554 | Bumble Bee

[Bombus pennsylanicus]

Bumble bees are found wherever flowering plants are and contribute immeasurably as pollinators of wild flowers and crops. They have a longer tongue than a honey bee, so they are more efficient pollinators for some plant species.

SPECIAL THANKS

to the Museum of York County

for their generous permission to paint right there in their Naturalist Center—so I could experience these beautiful creations up close and personal.
